Bae Joo-Hyun, professionally known as Irene, was born in Daegu, Buk-gu, South Korea on March 29, 1991. Joo-Hyun is the leader of the Red Velvet group, a popular K-pop female group in South Korea, and is known as South Korea’s pop singer. Joo-Hyun’s younger sibling attended Daegu’s Haknam High School.
