Janata Dal (United) (JDU) leader & Bihar Legislative Council member Tanveer Akhtar dies of COVID-19 on Saturday.

Tanveer Akhtar was in-charge of the state of JDU Minority Cell. Tanveer Akhtar became MLC in 2016 from the Assembly quota and his term was till July 2022.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has condoled the death of Legislative Councilor Tanvir Akhtar. The Chief Minister has said that Tanveer Akhtar was a skilled politician. He was a sociable person and was very popular among the people. The Chief Minister has said that the last rites of Tanveer Akhtar will be performed with state honors.

1.21 lakh infected with Covid-19 so far in Patna

Bihar has recorded the maximum number of 1 lakh 21 thousand 340 corona infected so far. Of these 98,100 infected have become healthy while 10 infected have died during treatment.

There are currently 22,330 corona patients active in Patna. During the first wave of corona in Patna last year, only 100 corona infects were identified in Patna till May 16.

Whereas, Munger was at the first place with the highest number of 122 infected. On May 18, the number of corona infected in Patna increased to 164 with 58 BMP personnel being found infected in Patna.
