Candidates who pass the JEE Advanced will have to apply for JoSAA Counselling, the registrations of which will commence on October 6.

This year, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has recently released some major changes in the admission process. JoSAA holds admissions to IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other government-funded technology institutes (GFTIs).

As per the official statement released by JoSAA, only six rounds of seat allotment will be conducted in 2020 as opposed to seven rounds conducted in the past three years. This change has been done to make sure that the admission process is over before Diwali and the new academic session starts immediately.

Also, this year, JoSAA has decided to do away with the physical reporting, because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Candidates would have to confirm their admission by submitting the required documents online.

What’s next after the JEE Advanced Result 2020 released?

Once the JEE Advanced result 2020 is declared, IITs will release their cutoffs. Eligible candidates will have to register for JoSAA counselling from October 6. Candidates need to confirm their seats by submitting their documents online.
