Katras: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Baghmar Dhullu Mahto is accused of sexual harassment by his own party worker. The victim has tried to immolate herself outside police station blaming the police for not taking any action against the perpetrator.
The victim was angered with police in action. She had lodged an FIR on October 31, against one of the associates of Dhullu Mahto, Ayodhya Thakur alleging him of physical exploitation and life threat, but seeing no action she tried to pour kerosene on herself and commit suicide.
Police promptness ensured her safety and she was saved but later she started accusing Dhullu Mahto of sexual harassment.
The woman leader of BJP told reporters that police inaction forced her to take such step to self-immolate.
Dhullu Mahto denied all the claims and said that if these allegations leveled against him are proved, he will accept the punishment.
He further added that everyone is aware of the victim’s character.
