The former deputy mayor of Dhanbad Neeraj Singh and three others were killed in a shootout on Tuesday evening in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad city. The incident took place near the Steel Gate.
As per reports, Singh’s car slowed down at a speed breaker when unknown gunmen started firing. Singh was hit by 17 bullets while the rest were also shot multiple times, informed Additional Director General RK Malik. The four were soon rushed to the hospital although none survived.
The gunmen have not been identified. The assailants are currently at large and a SIT has been set up to probe the killings.
