JNUSU Elections 2019: Poll panel increases number of Councillors from 31 to 43 this year

The JNUSU polls will be held on September 6 while the results will be announced on September 8.

Ahead of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) election, the university poll panel increased the number of councillors this year. JNUSU this time will have 43 councillors which used be 31 till last year.

Due to an amendment made to the JNUSU constitution, the number has now increased and gone up to 43.

As per the reports, the schools where the number of councillors has been increased are: The School for Sanskrit and Indic Studies, School of Engineering, Special Centre for Molecular Medicine and School of Arts and Aesthetics.

The JNUSU polls will be held on September 6 while the results will be announced on September 8.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has started its campaign for the September 6 JNUSU election in the right earnest and aims to reach to ‘each and every’ student and free the university of its ‘anti-national’ tag.
