BJP candidate from Ramanagara in Karnataka quits party, back in Congress

In a major political development, BJP Ramanagara candidate L Chandrashekhar, who left the party over issues with BJP senior leaders including BS Yeddyurappa, has rejoined Congress on Thursday.

“None of the BJP leaders bothered to campaign for me and I felt I was being made a sacrificial goat in this by-poll battle,” Chandrashekar told media.

As per the sources, L Chandrashekhar has blamed former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa for adopting the callous attitude towards him and following which, he has decided to support JDS and Congress coalition in upcoming by-polls on November 3 in Ramanagara constituency.

Anitha Kumaraswamy, wife of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is contesting under the coalition of JDS & Congress from Ramanagara constituency.

After the development, HD Kumaraswamy stated that “The BJP should blame themselves for this instead of blaming Congress-JDS. They forced him to join the BJP, then didn’t fulfil the promises made to him. They didn’t consult their party workers before giving him the ticket.”
