Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad and Kalaburagi municipal election results 2021 LIVE Updates: Counting of votes for the municipal body elections in three civic corporations in North Karnataka – Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad and Kalaburagi – are underway. A total of 195 wards in Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad and Kalaburagi voted on Friday to choose from the over 1,100 candidates. The North Karnataka municipal elections are being touted as the first litmus test for the CM Basavaraj Bommai, who recently took over the reins of the BJP government in Karnataka, after the resignation of BS Yediyurappa.

BJP leads in 36 wards while Congress in 9 wards, independents in 12 wards and AIMIM in 1 in Belagavi.

The saffron party which was eyeing a hat-trick win, fell short of three seats to get a clear majority in HDMC. Congress put a brave show by winning 33 seats. It was a dismal performance by the JD(S) which could win only one seat. AIMIM which contested for the first time gave a good performance by winning three seats. Six independent candidates have won.
Hubballi-Dharwad: BJP wins in 39 wards while the Congress wins in 33 seats, independents in 6 wards, JDS in 1 and AIMIM in 3.
BJP leads in 34 wards while Congress won in 27 wards, independents in 6 wards, JDS in 2 and AIMIM in 2 in Hubballi-Dharwad
BJP leads in 29 wards while Congress won in 17 wards, independents in 4 wards in Hubballi-Dharwad.
BJP wins in 10 wards while Congress won in 19 wards, JDS in 2 and independents in 2 wards in Kalaburagi.
BJP wins in 31 wards while Congress won in 8 wards, independents in 7 wards and AIMIM in 1 ward in Belagavi.
Counting of votes for North Karnataka civic election results
82 seats in Hubballi-Dharwad: BJP is leading in 23 seats, Congress in 11.
58 seats in Belagavi: BJP is leading in 24 seats, Congress in 6.
55 seats in Kalaburagi: BJP is leading in 7 seats while Congress in 8 seats and JDS in 2 seats.
Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation Election Results: The BJP has won 25 seats, the Congress has won 14 while the Independent candidates have won five. AAP and JDS are yet to open their account.
The results for 29 wards in Belagavi have been announced. Out of these, the BJP has won 14 while the Congress has won six followed by the Independent candidates who won in five wards.
For the 55-ward Kalaburagi City Corporation, 300 candidates are in the fray. There are as many as 83 Independent candidates, 55 from Congress, 47 from the BJP, 45 from the Janata Dal (Secular), 26 from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and 20 from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Some other parties are also in the fray but on a lesser number of seats. In the 82-ward Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation, 420 candidates are in the fray, while the BJP and the Congress are contesting in all wards. For the 58-ward Belagavi corporation, 385 candidates are in the fray. In 2013, the BJP had emerged as the single largest party in the 82-ward Hubballi-Dharwad corporation, while the Congress had won 55-ward Kalaburagi corporation.
