Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath which came to screens after much hype as the movie is Sara’s debut, gained mixed reviews. Released in around 2000 screens the movie had a great opening day. The film made Rs 5-7 Crores on the first day of the release itself.
Earlier, the Uttarakhand tourist minister had put a ban on the screening of the movie across 7 districts of the state.
Kedarnath is love tale based in Uttarakhand. The movie follows the story of Mansoor Khan (Sushant Singh Rajput), a pithu in Kedarnath, who falls in love with Mandakini Mishra (Sara Ali Khan). The love story of the star-crossed lovers is based against the backdrop of 2013 Kedarnath flood.
The budget of the film was around Rs 60 Crore.
