Keoti Assembly Constituency 2025: Keoti is an assembly area located in a rural part of the Darbhanga district, Bihar, lying about 20 km to the north of Darbhanga city, and almost 150 km to the northeast of Patna. It is made up of the whole Keoti Community Development Block and 13 gram panchayats from the Singhwara block such as Arai Birdipur, Banauli, and Madhopur Basatwara
Voters and Local Issues
The Yadavs, Muslims, Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) make up the diverse electorate of the area. Murari Mohan Jha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seat in the 2020 election with 76,372 votes (46.75%) in total, thus, he defeated Abdul Bari Siddiqui of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) who got 71,246 votes (43.61%) .
The dominant issues of the locality, among others, are insufficient agricultural support, poor rural education infrastructure, and flooding in the area. These problems have affected the voters’ mood and also the strategies of the parties in the area .
Keoti Assembly Constituency 2025: Recent Political History
Keoti has seen that its political loyalties have changed from time to time. In the 2015 assembly elections, RJD’s Faraz Fatmi won the seat by overthrowing the BJP candidate with a margin of 7,830 votes and he got 47.14% of the total votes . Nevertheless, in 2020, the BJP’s Murari Mohan Jha got the seat back, showing voter preference for NDA alliance had changed.
