The video of Khelo India Khelo players catering to the ministers during an event in Ranchi BJP office is making round on internet, but the officials seem to remain in denial. When asked to comment on the matter, they either declined from having any information on the matter or found manipulating the whole idea of involving children in serving ministers and other guests. On the other hand, the children who were distributing the snacks said that they were doing it voluntarily. The Khelo India programme is aimed to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by strengthening all sports that are played in India.

BJP’s Jharkhand spokesperson Pratul Sahdev while talking to Newsd, clearly refused from having any information on any such incident. Though he admits that an event was organised and the ministers were also present in the event but he is unaware of any such incident where children of ‘Khelo India Khelo’ were made to cater the ministers. He further acknowledged that it is unfortunate if any such incident actually happened.
Whereas another official from Sports Authority of India who spoke to Newsd on the condition of anonymity believes there is no harm in doing it as it is a type of volunteering. Further, he emphasises that the event was of ‘Khelo Bharat’ that is an initiative by BJP and has nothing to do with the government body.
The Khelo Bharat Khelo selected players were made to serve tea and snacks to the ministers at Ranchi BJP office. This bizarre incident came to the limelight when the BJP leaders invited these young aspiring fellows to promote them in front of the media before they leave for Delhi while ended up getting them involved in catering jobs.
