Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said that by August 2025 the state had more than 2.3 crore women who could receive help from the scheme. This was shared in a PTI report and earlier, in August, Tatkare also said that the state had found 26.34 lakh people who seemed ineligible, including men and she explained that this list would be sent to district officers for checking.

New Deadline For e-KYC

The state told all women in the scheme that they must complete their electronic Know Your Customer process. The announcement came in September 2025 and the government gave two months for everyone to finish the verification. A government resolution was also issued to make this official. Later because many areas had floods in October 2025, the state gave a 15-day extension. Now the last date to finish e-KYC is 18 November.

Tatkare said that women can finish their e-KYC on the official website, which is ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. She also added that all beneficiaries shouldt do this e-KYC every year as part of the rules.

How Many Women have Completed Verification?

In October, the minister gave an update on the progress. She said that 1.10 crore women, which is 90% of all applicants, had already completed their e-KYC. She also said that around four to five lakh women are doing the process each day. Tatkare added, “The administration is committed to ensuring that no eligible woman is left out due to technical or logistical hurdles.”

According to the state rules, women who do not finish their verification within the given time will not receive the monthly ₹1,500 payment. The government also said that if a woman does not finish Aadhaar authentication, then her benefits will be put on hold.

Who can Receive the Monthly ₹1,500?

The Ladki Bahin scheme is meant for women between 21 and 65 years of age. Their yearly income must be below ₹2.5 lakh to qualify. Women who take benefits from any other government scheme cannot join this one. The state sends the money straight to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of the eligible women.
