The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed movie made an extra Rs 35 crore net on Monday, making it the highest-grossing movie in Vijay’s career after its first weekend. With this, the film has earned a net amount of Rs 216.40 crore in India across all languages after five days. The film has captured the international box office, and earned a worldwide revenue of Rs 404 crore.

If the three national chains had released the Hindi translation, it might have increased Leo’s earnings. Cinepolis, Inox, and PVR declined to screen the Vijay-starrer on the grounds that it must have a gap of eight weeks before its OTT release. Yet, reported that the producers have already sold the digital rights to Leo to Netflix for Rs 120 crore, with the streaming service receiving the rights to its OTT premiere one week later.
