The final Group Stage matchday of the AFC Asian Cup is here. And things are all but decided in Group E. Both Saudi Arabia and Qatar have already qualified from the group, meaning tonight’s encounter will see the two fight for top spot.
World Cup 2022 hosts Qatar play Saudi Arabia in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 in Abu Dhabi. Qatar and Saudi Arabia are paired alongside DPR Korea and Lebanon and in Group E of the competition.
Saudi have clicked into gear under Juan Antonio Pizzi, and have shown in their opening victories over North Korea and Lebanon that they have the technical quality and an eye for goal which stands them outs as potential winners of the tournament.
For the first time ever, twenty-four nations will compete in the pan-Asian competition instead of the usual sixteen. As such two additional groups have been added and the two best teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams will progress in the tournament.
