The second phase of the Lok Sabha polls is being held in 95 seats today across 11 states and 1 Union Territory. Thirty-eight of the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu have gone to polls besides 18 assembly constituencies. Besides Tamil Nadu, elections are being held in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Manipur.

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily, BJP lawmaker Hema Malini and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah are among the prominent candidates contesting in the phase 2 elections.
