Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Congress-AAP seal alliance in Delhi, Haryana

After the possibility of an alliance in Delhi between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress continued to rise and dip with twists surfacing each day, the two parties have finally reached an agreement.

Reports suggest that the grand old party will be contesting from New Delhi, Chandni Chowk and North-West Delhi seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be contesting from the remaining 4 Lok Sabha constituencies ie North East Delhi, East Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi.

In Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party will be fielding only one candidate, whereas the Congress party will be contesting on the other 9 seats.

The key bone of contention between Congress and AAP has been the number of candidates from each party, while a 3-3-1 formula was under discussion, where both parties would contest on 3 seats with another one going to a neutral (independent) candidate, AAP had insisted on having 5 tickets.
