Kangana Ranaut was born to play Jhansi ki Rani, says veteran bollywood actor Manoj Kumar

Lyricist Prasoon Joshi reveals Kangana another big reason to do Manikarnika

Bollywood famous lyricist Prasoon Joshi, who is known for giving masterpieces in form of Rang De Basanti & Bhaag milkha Bhaag and also with deep knowledge of history has written lyrics and dialogues for the upcoming movie based on historical war period Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Narrating his entire experience of working on Manikarnika, Prasoon shares, “Working on Manikarnika has been full of challenges we’ve had great moments, too. The extraordinary life of Rani Lakshmi Bai is a subject that has inspired every Indian and was one of the key reasons for all of us to work together on the project. For me, Kangana as Rani Lakshmi Bai was another big reason to do the film. She has inherent emotion and talent required to play this role. And then the enriching interaction with Vijayendra Prasad Ji was fantastic, too. It always feels like a joyride to explore new musical landscapes with Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Our team has worked hard against many odds, and I hope that will reflect in the film. I believe for any project to be truly successful and touch people’s hearts, it also needs to be blessed”.

Telling all about the kind of researching and the type of preparation that all went into the making of this historical war period film, Prasoon revealed, “The production team had done their research and were ready with their material. From my perspective, the idea was to make words resonate with the viewers. Authenticity to the dialect of time was not our only focus, it was more about conveying the sentiment and connecting with the audiences at large”.

The film produced by zee studios in association with Kamal Jain is all set to release on 25th January 2018 in various languages like Hindi, Tamil & Telugu nationwide.
