A woman inspector Madhvi Agnihotri in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh sought a unique trick to nab a dreaded murder fugitive.

According to the reports, gangster Balkishan Choubey was wanted for at least 15 cases of murder and dacoity on both sides of the Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh border.

Madhya Pradesh Police had conducted raids in his hideout several times but were unable to nab him.

When some sources told police that the accused was looking for a girl for marriage, the 28-year-old sub-inspector Madhvi Agnihotri hooked Choubey over three days of phone conversations. She sent him her photos posing as a bride to get him into a wedding trap set at a temple following which he was caught.

“When I was preparing to meet him, I kept reminding myself of his habit of carrying guns and shooting without hesitation,” the gallant cop told to TOI.

When Balkishan reached the place fixed for the meeting, police arrested him. The Superintendent of Police had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 rupees cash on Balakishan since he had many cases registered earlier against him.

Madhvi is a gold medallist in shot put and 100m university nationals. She was posted as officer in charge of Garoli Chowky of Naugaon police station.
