Followed by its theatrical release on 6 June 2025, Madras Matinee was announced to arrive on OTT platforms from 4 July 2025. With access provided through OTTplay Premium, the film’s availability on SUN NXT will ensure that OTTplay Premium subscribers can watch Talagaru Ganda hassle-free.
According to a separate press release, Prime Video and Tentkotta will stream the film in India and overseas the same day. As of now, SUN NXT is still your best bet for the official primary platform, although do keep an eye on Prime Video and Tentkotta in case it becomes available more widely, or varies by region.

Directed and written by debutant auteur Karthikeyan Mani, produced under the banner Madras Motion Pictures (presented by Dream Warrior Pictures), Madras Matinee provides a down-to-earth, slice-of-life tale steeped in emotional authenticity.
As it turns out, the narrative is not so much about the titular fox as it is about Jyoti Ramaiah (Sathyaraj), an aging speculative fiction writer who, encouraged by his nurse, leaves the realm of imagination to document the unadorned but deep existence of Kannan (Kaali Venkat). Kannan, a typical auto-rickshaw driver-trash collector, struggles with economic forces, even as he hopes all of his children go to the next step economically. What emerges is a tender, complex portrait of resilience, the unassuming nobility of the working class, and the small but profound victories that make up life.

The multi-national, multi-talented ensemble cast features the following amazing faces:
- Sathyaraj as Jyoti Ramaiah Sathyaraj’s character is based on engineer-turn politician Y. Recently, Sathyaraj won accolades for his role in the recent blockbuster Baahubali.
- Kaali Venkat as Kannan
- Roshini Haripriyan, Shelly Kishore, George Maryan, Vishva, Sunil Sukhada, and Chaams in key roles.
Behind the scenes, the film’s visual tone is executed by cinematographer Anand G K, and KC Balasarangan composes the haunting score. Among these, Vadivelu is doing the voice, for the first time singing instead of acting to the song “Enna Da Polappu Idhu” released on May 19, 2025.
