A total of 9 zilla parishad seats and 16 panchayat samiti seats were contested in the bypolls held in the seven districts of Raigad, Pune, Hingoli, Ahmednagar, Wardha, Bhandara and Gondia.
The BJP-Sena combine, which is ruling Maharashtra in a coalition for the last 5 years, has formed a pre-poll pact to contest the upcoming elections. The alliance has set a target of 220+.
