The Police have arrested two men for allegedly creating a ruckus in MP Nagar, Bhopal on Saturday night. They allegedly smashed the windshields of 25 cars and killed a 25-year-old man after brutally thrashing him. Initially, all the four accused fled the scene, but two of them were nabbed by the police on Sunday, including the main accused.
According to the Police, all the four accused came to Shanti Nagar area in their Innova, where Salman Abdul (who was later murdered) and the main accused used to live. The four accused – main accused Shiva Patil who is the district president of Rashtriya Hindu Sena, his brother, brother-in-law and a friend were armed with sticks and swords. They went on a rampage and smashed the vehicles parked near Sargam Talkies.
Among the damaged vehicles were also a mini truck owned by the victim Salman. When Salman’s father Abdul Saeed received a call saying that their vehicle was damaged by the four people, he rushed to the location with his younger son.
After reaching the location, when the accused were asked the reason for damaging the vehicle, they started abusing them. When Salman intervened to rescue his younger brother, the accused caught him and cruelly thrashed him with sticks. And after seeing him being brutally injured and unconscious, the four then boarded their car and knocked down Salman. He sustained grave injuries on his legs and head, said the police.
“Main accused Patil who lives in the same locality, is jobless. He used to move in his car and just spend money on booze and food. On Saturday, after badly beating up my son Salman, they tried to abduct him, but failing to do so, they deliberately hit him with their car. Due to the impact of the hit, his right leg was fractured and he was thrown a few metres away that resulted in grave head injuries. The four fled in their car before the locals tried to catch them,” said Abdul Saeed to Free Press.
He also said, “after a few minutes, the police arrived at the scene and my son was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at around 3 pm.”
According to the report, the main accused was infuriated after Sohail wrote insulting words on his car earlier. But, the police have denied any such allegations.
