‘Mandir yahi banega’ marker showed for Ayodhya site on Google Maps?

Google Maps users recently found a controversial marker with the Hindi phrase “Mandir yahi banega” appear on the satellite version of the Map of Ayodhya. The marker was placed near the disputed site of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.

The hindi phrase “Mandir yahi banega” is the clarion call used by several right-wing outfits for decades to underline their demand of constructing a Ram temple at the disputed site.

IndiaTimes reported that people were commenting and reviewing the place as well with it gathering 4 out of 5 stars at one point. The company has stated that it has “fixed the issue”.

Google reportedly attributed the lapse to unhelpful edits suggested by users and said it fixed the issue and got the marker removed. The marker, earlier visible if one typed ‘Ram Janmbhoomi’ on the Google Maps, can no longer be seen now.
