Mann Ki Baat 2.0: PM Modi makes three requests to the nation to deal with nationwide water crisis

Taking note of water crisis in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a huge chunk of his Mann ki Baat address to the prevailing water crisis in the country. He stressed at collective efforts in order to bring in positive change. He also said that a new Jala shakti ministry has been established that will allow quicker decision-making on all water issues.

“There can be no one formula to solve the water crisis in the entire country. For this, diverse efforts are being made in different parts of the country. However, they all have a common goal — to save water,” said PM Modi.

Urging people to conserve water, Modi said he has three requests to make to people from all walks of life. “When people will join hands, water will be conserved. Today, through Mann ki Baat programme, I am entreating 3 requests to the fellow countrymen.”

Request 1: Start a mass movement for water conservation

My first request is that just like cleanliness drive has been given the shape of mass movement by the countrymen, let’s also start a mass movement for water conservation.

Request 2: “Share and use traditional methods of water conservation”

My second request to the countrymen is to share many traditional methods tha have been in use over the centuries in our country for the conservation of water. I urge all of you to share these traditional methods of water conservation.

Request 3: “Share information concerning people who are making contributions towards water conservation.”

My third request to all of you is that share the information concerning the people who ae making significant contributions towards water conservation.

He also urged people to tweet with #JanShakti4JalShakti. “Come let us join water conservation, and involve ourselves in making a list of more and more innovative methods to motivate people to conserve water,” he says.
