March Snowstorm Alert: Parts of three states have been issued winter storm watches as a storm that dumped several feet of mountain snow in the Pacific Northwest moves into the Rocky Mountains on Wednesday, dumping heavy, wind-driven snow.

In Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued advisories regarding hazardous travel conditions and diminished visibility as a result of drifting snow in certain areas.

As per forecasts, the tempest is anticipated to persist through the nocturnal hours of Thursday, March 14th. The alert in Colorado has been extended until Friday.

It is anticipated that the Colorado Rockies will receive a minimum of one foot of snow, with potential localized accumulations surpassing two feet. It is anticipated that the second phase will bring localized accumulations exceeding an additional foot, with snow rates reaching 2 inches per hour at times.

Greater Denver will be the location that accumulates the most snow. Chris Dolce, a meteorologist for Weather.com, told USA Today that “the Palmer Divide to the south of [Denver] and the foothills west of downtown will experience the heaviest totals.”

In fact, a warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the region, lasting from Wednesday at noon until Friday, March 15th at night.
