New Delhi: From past few days, there have been several reports doing rounds with regard to a gathering of over 1000 people at Markaz Nizamuddin for a religious function at a time when social distancing is vital to break the chain to stop COVID-19.
Now in a recent development to the reports, the Markaz Nizamuddin has issued official clarification on the same.
In the clarification they said, during this entire episode, Markaz Nizamuddin has never violated any provision of law, and always tried to act with compassion and reason towards the visitors who came to Delhi from different states and nations. It did not even let them violate the medical guidelines by thronging ISBTs or roaming on the streets.
Moreover, they added, Markaz Nizamuddin would like to humbly offer the entire premises as a quarantine facility
to help the authorities tide-over the challenge of current pandemic. Throughout its 100-year existence, Markaz has maintained a history of cooperating with administration/authorities and always uphold the rule of law in letter and spirit. In view of the present challenge of COVID-19, Markaz stands with the law enforcement authorities and shall remain forthcoming in complying with all the guidelines issued by them.
Requesting the media to check the numbers before putting they said, “Here we also would like to put forth that, the Covid 19 positive numbers are being aired/published are baseless and not govt official numbers.”
We can provide all evidence of our communication with concern authorities if needed,” they added.
For the uninitiated, Markaz Nizamuddin is the international headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat for close to 100
years now. Visitors/guests/devotees/worshippers from across the globe throng the place for prescheduled programs lasting for not more than 3-5 days. All the programs are decided a year in advance in order to facilitate visitors from far-off places to plan their participation.
