The latest Maruti Suzuki S-Cross 2020 petrol BS6 version is all set to launch in India on August 5. After the S-cross petrol made its debut at Auto Expo 2020, a launch was originally scheduled for April. However, the launch was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Upon launch next month, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster and the Nissan Kicks.
Maruti Suzuki dealerships have now started accepting unofficial bookings on the S-Cross petrol at a reservation amount of Rs 11,000. Under the hood of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will be a 1.5-liter K15B engine that produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. This motor will be available with a five-speed manual transmission as well as a four-speed automatic gearbox. Also on offer will be the company’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology.
The 2020 S-Cross petrol will be launched in four variants including Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

On the look front, the car has been given minimalistic changes to keep up the feel and tone of the car. In terms of overall size and dimensions, it will remain identical to the previous year model. The major change is under the hood, where it will get the all-new petrol BS6 compliant 1.5-litre K15B mild-hybrid petrol engine. For reference, the same engine has been fitted in cars like Ciaz, XL6, Ertiga and Vitara Brezza.
In the interior, it will feature a 7-inch Smartplay Studio 2.0 System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Smart Key with push-button start, auto-folding ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, cruise control automatic climate control.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol BS6 price:
S-cross petrol prices are likely to be slightly lower as compared to its diesel-powered predecessor, which cost between Rs 8.81 to 11.44 lakh. With prices expected in the Rs 8.5-11.5 lakh region, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will go up directly against the now petrol-only Renault Duster (Rs 8.49-10.00 lakh).
