Dust Storm in Rajasthan: A strong dust storm moved across Bikaner and nearby parts of Rajasthan on Saturday afternoon. The sky turned dark and dusty, and the city was covered in thick clouds of sand. Videos from the area showed the wind pushing huge waves of dust through roads and neighbourhoods. The scene was so strong that day looked more like evening.
The storm was part of a wider weather change across Rajasthan. In Churu, the dust cloud was even stronger in some places. One report said the storm hit around 2 pm and reduced visibility to only a few metres in some areas. Vehicles had to slow down or stop, and drivers used headlights because it was so hard to see. The storm lasted for around half an hour and came with wind speeds close to 70 kmph.

Churu Sees Dust and Rain

Churu also saw a very dark and dusty sky. The storm created a black-and-yellow look over the region and made the air heavy with sand. After the dust storm, rain followed in parts of Churu district. That rain brought some relief from the heat. Weather officials said the rain and storm together brought the temperature down by as much as 8 degrees Celsius.
The weather office said the unstable spell could continue for a few more days in parts of Rajasthan. It also warned that thunderstorms, dust storms, strong winds, and even hail could keep showing up in some areas. So the heat is not gone yet, but the weather is now moving in a much rougher and more changeable way.

The rough weather was not only in Rajasthan. On Saturday, May 30, 2026, many phones across Delhi-NCR and parts of western Uttar Pradesh buzzed with an “Extremely Severe Alert.” The warning said severe thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, heavy rain, and hail could hit within the next three hours in places like Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Mathura, and nearby districts.
Delhi-NCR also got rain and gusty winds, which cooled things down after days of harsh heat. Earlier in the week, dust storms and rain had already begun bringing relief to the region. The weather shift came after temperatures had climbed very high in north India, so the new rain felt like a sudden break from the furnace.
