Who is playing at the Miami Open 2024?

As a result of Novak Djokovic’s early exit from Indian Wells, Carlos Alcaraz headlines the men’s draw in Miami.

In tomorrow’s Indian Wells semi-final, Alcaraz will face Australian Open champion and Miami Open runner-up Jannik Sinner.

For the first time in his career, Sinner will be defending the title he lost to Daniil Medvedev last year.

The men’s field also includes former champions Hubert Hurkacz and Andy Murray, who has openly admitted this could be his last appearance.

Aside from Berrettini, Matteo Berrettini will also return to the ATP Tour next week, looking to climb back up the rankings after being sidelined for nearly seven months.

Former world No.4 Kei Nishikori, Chinese talent Juncheng Shang, Spanish youngster Martin Landaluce, as well as American hopeful Martin Damm and 16-year-old Darwin Blanch, all received wildcards.

The top seed in the women’s field will once again be Iga Swiatek, who is still aiming to complete the sunshine double.

After losing in the fourth round at Indian Wells, Australian Open champion and second seed Aryna Sabalenka will be looking to bounce back.

As she is pregnant with her first child, Petra Kvitova will not be present at the tournament this year.

Elena Rybakina, last year’s runner-up, is expected to attend, but her participation is uncertain after withdrawing from Indian Wells due to illness.

In addition to Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, defending doubles champions Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula will also be playing two events.

The runner-up from 2022, Angelique Kerber, and 2022 runner-up Naomi Osaka will also be hoping to continue their recent progress.

This year, three previous singles champions are returning to the Miami Open: Victoria Azarenka, Sloane Stephens, and Venus Williams, who received a wildcard for her 22nd appearance.

Caroline Wozniacki, Emma Raducanu, Amanda Anisimova, and Simona Halep have also been offered wildcards.

In her first tournament since the US Open in 2022, Halep received a wildcard after her doping ban was reduced from four years to nine months.
