The online petition to stop US President Donald Trump’s official UK visit has gathered more than a million signatures.
Following Trump’s Muslim ban, the petition has garnered huge support online.
British PM Theresa May announced the visit during her recent US trip.
The petition alleged that Donald Trump’s UK visit would cause an embarrassment to the British Queen.
The petition states: “Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.”
Earlier, the online petition has generated over 80,000 signatories within an hour, enough for being considered for debate in parliament.
On Friday, Donald Trump had signed an executive order which banned the entry of tens of millions refugees from seven Muslim-majority countries- Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Sudan and Somalia- into US.
However, a federal judge in Brooklyn had put a hold on portions of the executive order banning travel for tens of millions of people from seven Muslim-majority countries.
