Lucknow: Miss Universe Great Britain Dee Ann Kentish Rogers visits Sheroes Hangout Cafe Lucknow and spends time with the Acid Attack Survivors.
Dee Ann Kentish Rogers is the first black woman to wear the crown. This is the first time the title has been won by a black woman since the pageant started in 1952.
She extended her support to the Sheroes India for the work done towards women empowerment.
Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers is on a five-day visit to India from Oct 28 to Nov 1 as a part of her social responsibility to help acid attack survivors in India. She is on her maiden visit to India.
Miss Universe Great Britain is a former athlete and a British model. Dee-Ann is a law graduate from the University of Birmingham. She had participated in Commonwealth games in India in 2010 and competed in heptathlon event.
A beauty queen and Barrister is an accomplished athlete participated in 2014 Commonwealth games. Kentish Rogers also enjoyed the cultural performance performed by the acid attack survivors at Lucknow Sheroes Hangout Cafe.
Dee-Ann also has supported the signature campaign of Anshu Rajpoot, an acid attack survivor who works at the cafe, to save the Sheroes Hangout Cafe Lucknow.
Miss Universe Great Britain was in Delhi on Monday and Nehal Chudasama came from Mumbai to accompany her for the Delhi darshan. She also visited the Sheroes headquarter and met with the acid attack survivors in Noida. Nehal is her friend on Instagram and met her for the first time in Delhi. She had informed Nehal about her plans to visit India earlier on social site and they met finally.
Dee Ann also visited Agra and Tajmahal during her visit. “Miss Universe Great Britain presence has been a great motivation for the Acid attack Survivors,” said Seema who is associated with the Sheroes Hangout Cafe Lucknow.
