Miss France Iris Mittenaere has been crowned Miss Universe 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena on Monday. As per the Miss Universe website, Iris, 23, was born in Lille, France. She has been pursuing a degree in dentistry for the last 5 years.
“If she takes home the crown, she hopes to advocate for dental and oral hygiene,” says her profile on the site. While Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar won second runner-up, Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier won first runner-up. The Philippines’ bet, Maxine Medina, was among the Top 6 of the competition.
Mittenaere, during the pageant said she would like to use Miss Universe platform to spread awareness about dental and oral hygiene across the world.
Notably, Miss India Universe, Bengaluru girl Roshmitha Harimurhty did not even make it to the top 13. Miss Philippines, this year got eliminated when the ‘Top 3’ were announced.
