A Simdega Court on Tuesday July 3, sentenced life imprisonment to Kolebira MLA Anosh Ekka in connection with the murder case of a para teacher Manoj Kumar in 2014.
Ekka was arrested in November 2014 after Manoj Kumar’s body was found in jungles near Kolebira of Simdega and since then he has been lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi. The court has found Anosh guilty under Sections 364, 302 and 201 of Indian Penal Code and also under Section 27 of Arms Act.
Annos Ekka’s assembly membership also ends after getting the sentence of life imprisonment. Ekka becomes the 4th MLA to be disqualified from the membership of Jharkhand Assembly.
