Two days after the Republic Day celebrations in the national capital, a mortar shell was found lying in Kishan Garh village near Vasant Kunj area of Delhi on Saturday.
While acting on a tip off, the police from Vasant Kunj police station found a suspicious object in a dustbin (in Kishan Garh village) this morning, said a senior police officer.
He said the services of the National Security Guard (NSG) was sought to deactivate the explosives and efforts are continue to neutralize the shells. “As an interim measure, the mortar shell has been secured by a bomb blanket,” said the officer.
In the meantime, the area has been cordoned off as a security measure. The deadly object was found almost 15 kilometeres away from the Prime Minister Narendra modi’s rally that is scheduled today.
