Mumbai rains are continuous and are lashing the city even on Monday causing inconvenience to lakhs of commuters.

The heavy rainfall in the city and its outskirts hit the low lying areas and it delayed trains and slowed down vehicular movements on roads.

During the peak hours on Monday, the local train services on central, western and harbor lines were delayed by over 30 minutes.

Due to the heavy rainfall, children were seen passing through water to go to school as streets in Dadar East were flooded due to heavy rainfall.

As per the details on a forecast website, Mumbai will witness two tides on Monday. One at 11.11 AM and another high tide at 10:44 pm at night. The tide height of the one at 11.11 AM was 4.33m (14.21ft), while that of 10.44 PM will be 3.76m (12.34ft).

The locals have been warned about the high tide and been told to not to go close to the beaches during the high tide timings.

The high tides occur due to gravitational pull between the earth and the moon.

According to a private weather forecaster, rains in the city are expected to get intense starting the night of July 3 wherein heavy amount of showers will be seen as the weather which is formed in the Bay will move towards the West Coast resulting in heavy rain.
