Streamers like Viki and Viu are also on board, so honestly, there’s no excuse to miss it. Twelve episodes, six weeks, and probably a lot of tears.

Song Joong-ki is usually blowing stuff up or outsmarting the mafia like Vincenzo, Reborn Rich, Space Sweepers, all that jazz. But here? He’s ditching the tough guy act to play Sun Woo-hae, a florist who’s basically having a rom-com midlife crisis. The man himself says he’s always had a soft spot for melodramas, and honestly, you can feel it:
If you loved him in Descendants of the Sun, brace yourself. This is his first real comeback to romance since then. Fans are basically counting the days, and I kinda get it.
The Plot
Sun Woo-hae was a child star, now he’s writing books and arranging peonies or whatever, just living quietly until boom, his first love Sung Je-yeon walks back into his life. She’s a tough-as-nails agency team leader now. Cue all the unresolved feelings, awkward run-ins, and “should we try again?” drama.

Chun Woo-hee’s playing Je-yeon, and even though she’s been in the industry forever, this is her first classic melodrama. She said she got all up in her feelings reading the script:
“I realized… melodrama actually feels like the one that fits me best.”
And director Lee Sang-yeop calls it:
“A joyful, exciting, sorrowful, and heartwarming story about rediscovering a forgotten past through another person.”
The Cast
Who’s in? Song Joong-ki (obviously), Chun Woo-hee, Lee Ju-myung, and Seo Ji-hoon. The supporting squad’s stacked too: Jin Kyung, Jo Han-cheol, Yoon Byung-hee, Lee Bong-ryun basically, you’re in safe hands.
Behind the scenes, you’ve got Lee Sang-yeop (the Yumi’s Cells lead) directing, Park Si-hyeon (wrote Run On) handling the script, and SLL plus High-Zium Studio producing.

Let’s be honest, Song Joong-ki’s last few movies didn’t exactly light the world on fire (Hopeless, Bogotá, Loh Kiwan). My Youth feels like his shot at redemption a chance to remind everyone why he’s the king of swoony, heart-tugging dramas.
It’s got all the good stuff: emotional gut-punches, nostalgia, believable characters, and a big ol’ question mark over whether people can really get a second shot at love. If you’re a sucker for “what if?” romances or just need a reason to feel something on Fridays, this one’s calling your name.
