UP Minister Mocks Nitish Kumar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently made a big promise before the upcoming state elections. He said that every household in Bihar will get 125 units of electricity for free each month. This free supply will begin from August 1, 2025, starting with the July billing cycle. Nitish Kumar said this step would help around 1.67 crore families in the state. He shared this announcement through a post on social media and reminded people that his government has always worked to give electricity at fair prices.
The Chief Minister also said that he wants to bring more changes in the coming years. He plans to install solar panels either on rooftops or in nearby public places. This will be done only after taking permission from the people. His plan is to complete the solar panel work within the next three years so that families can get more benefits in the future.

But not everyone is impressed with these announcements. Uttar Pradesh’s Energy and Urban Development Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma took a dig at the Bihar Chief Minister during an event in Mathura. He said the promise of free electricity makes no sense if there is no electricity at all.
While making fun of the Bihar plan, Sharma said, “Electricity is free in Bihar but it will be free only when it will be supplied… na bijli ayegi na bill ayega… free ho gayi. Hum bijli de rhe hain.” He pointed out that in UP, people are at least getting electricity, even if it’s not free.
