In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old national level junior Kabaddi player was raped by a man in his 30s outside a stadium in North West Delhi on Saturday. The girl told the police that on 9 July, she was outside the stadium when a man posing as a stadium official took her inside. He then served her drinks mixed with sedatives and raped her in the bushes near the stadium.
The girl approached police on Monday morning. She said she could not approach police earlier as she was in trauma. The girl also alleged that the man dropped her at a road outside the stadium and threatened to kill her if she tells anyone or reported the issue.
The rape was confirmed after the Police took the girl to a hospital for medical examination. However, the police are yet to make any arrests.
Post the complaint; police have filed case of rape and other sections of POCSO (Protection of children from sexual offences act). As per statistics, a rape case is reported every four hours in Delhi.
