National Tourism Day 2023: The seventh of May is observed annually as National Tourism Day. This day is celebrated in the United States as part of National Travel and Tourism Week, which takes place during the first full week of May each and every year. In May of 1983, President Ronald Reagan made a proclamation encouraging all citizens to mark National Travel and Tourism Week for the first time. This was the first time the week was observed.

WHY WE ARE SO EXCITED THAT IT’S NATIONAL TOURISM DAY
People have access to a wider range of experiences thanks to tourism.
It doesn’t matter if you’re travelling for business, on a one-week family vacation, or gave up everything to pursue a nomadic life, travel can make you a happier person by helping you build self-confidence through new experiences, breaking down barriers, and allowing you to meet people from all over the world. Travel is good for lots of things.
Travel and tourism help break down barriers caused by language.
It is recommended that people who travel to other countries pick up a few new phrases and words in the local language of each country they visit. Learning to communicate in a language other than one’s native tongue might provide individuals with a fresh perspective on life.
A shock to the system
The effects of transitioning from one culture to another that has not previously experienced are referred to as “culture shock.” The novelty of a new setting, complete with new people and a different way of life, is what causes this surprise.
