The significance of National Youth Day:

National Youth Day’s past:
Since 1985, this event has been commemorated annually throughout India. On the same day in 1883, Swamiji delivered his renowned address on Hinduism at the Chicago Parliament of Religions, beginning with the phrase “Sisters and Brothers of America.” He was the first Indian whose speech in the United States astonished the crowd.
Swami Vivekananda taught Yoga and Vedanta to the western world and was instrumental in elevating Hinduism to the rank of a significant international religion.
He was a key participant in the late 19th and early 20th century Hindu reform movement and is noted for his teachings on Vedanta, a Hindu philosophical system.
