An Indian national has been killed in firing by Nepal Police personnel in the bordering district Sitamarhi Indo-Nepal, Sarlahi of southeastern Nepal on Friday morning.
The man was working on the farm when shots were fired from the Nepali side of the border. In the meantime, Nepal’s arms police started firing indiscriminately at the people. In which the 25-year-old son of Nageshwar Rai, a resident of Janan Nagar Tolle Lalbandi, died. Two persons were injured in the firing.
Preliminary reports say a group of Indians had crossed the border into the Narayanpur village of the district despite the border restriction imposed to control the coronavirus outbreak and snatched a gun from a police staffer.
The confirmation about the firing was made by Sashastra Seema Bal IG of Bihar sector.
Following the shooting, the situation at the border is tense.
