Poonam Pandey has always been controversy’s favourite child. A few days ago, model-actress Poonam Pandey surprised everyone when she announced that she has married her live-in partner Sam Bombay. Soon after their wedding, the couple left for Goa for their shoot-cum-honeymoon.
But things soon turned nasty and there was trouble in the paradise. For a few days, Poonam shared happy photos and videos from Goa. However, in a turn of events, on Monday night, Poonam filed a police complaint against her husband and accused him of “molestation”, “assault” and “threatening”.
Sam is now out on bail on a surety of Rs 20,000, while on the other hand, Poonam says that she has no plans of continuing this over-two-weeks-long marriage.
Poonam alleged that Sam and her relationship has always been abusive and now she would rather being single than suffer like this. “I don’t think it’s a smart idea to return to a person, who has beaten you up like an animal, without even thinking of the consequence. In a bid to save our relationship, I have suffered a lot. I prefer being single than in an abusive relationship. I have decided to end our marriage. It’s about time I moved on,” the Nasha actress told Etimes.
Poonam also went on to claim that she has landed up in the hospital many times earlier because she has been a victim of domestic violence throughout the course of her relationship with Sam.
She alleged that Sam’s anger stemmed from “his possessiveness and insecurity” and that she had hoped that marriage would make things better. However, she says that it didn’t work.
About what happened on the fateful Monday night, Poonam claimed that she and Sam had an argument, which led to him hitting her. She claimed that he “choked” and “punched” her, pulled her hair, banged her head against the wall, pinned her down and assaulted her. She further alleged that somehow, she managed to free herself and jolted out of the room, which is when the hotel authorities called the cops.
The alleged assault apparently took place in Canaconca village in South Goa where Poonam was shooting for a film. After bail, Sam has to report to the Canacona police station for four days.
