In an unexpected move on Tuesday, Times Now Editor-in-Chief and primetime news anchor Rahul Shivshankar tendered his resignation.

The News Minute reported that Shivshankar left all of the channel’s WhatsApp groups, including the editorial group.

Uncertain are Shivshankar’s abrupt resignation and future plans.

Shivshankar joined Times Now in 2005, when Arnab Goswami (currently the Editor-in-Chief of Republic World) was the Chief Editor.

Shivshankar quit the channel and became the editor-in-chief of News X between 2013 and 2016. However, he returned to Times Now in 2016 following Goswami’s departure.

Rubika Liyaquat, the primetime news anchor for ABP News, recently left the network to become vice president of Bharat24. According to reports, she will shortly launch her own YouTube channel.
