On International Women’s day, world’s largest sports brand Nike has unveiled a hijab designed for female Muslim athletes.

The pull-on hijab is made of light, stretchy fabric that includes tiny holes for breathability and an elongated back so it will not come untucked, The Guardian reported.

The hijab will come in three colours: black, grey and obsidian and will hit the market in 2018.

The product was tested by many female athletes. UAE figure skater Zahra Lari posted photos of herself wearing the hijab on Instagram.

“I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a hijab. I’ve tried so many different hijabs for performance, and … so few of them actually work for me. But once I put it on and took it for a spin on the ice, I was blown away by the fit and the light weight,” Lari said in a statement.

Nike said it began developing the hijab after some Muslim athletes complained about wearing a traditional head scarf during competition.
