NIRF Rankings 2019 update: The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) is all set to National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2019 on April 8. This apart, the ministry will also announce the Atal Ranking of Institutions (ARIIA 2019) on Innovation Achievements.

According to latest updates, President Ram Nath Kovind will announce the NIRF Rankings 2019 today evening at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The rankings are based on the basis of teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity and perception.

The rankings will be for courses like – Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law.

What is National Institutional Ranking Framework?

National Institutional Ranking Framework can be defined as a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Government of India) to rank institutions of higher education in India. It was approved by the MHRD and launched by Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015.

  • Rank 1: Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru
  • Rank 2: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi
  • Rank 3: Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi

  • Rank 5: University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad
  • Rank 6: Jadavpur University, Kolkata
