In connection with a case involving a violation of the Model Code of Conduct during her campaigning for the 2019 Lok Sabha election, a court in the Uttar Pradesh district has summoned former member of Parliament and actress Jaya Prada to appear on November 17. The court has also stated that an earlier non-bailable warrant issued against Prada will remain in effect.
On Thursday, prosecution officer Amarnath Tiwari stated that despite the issuance of a no-bail warrant against her on November 8, the actress failed to appear in court.
Currently, the court has resumed proceedings regarding the NBW and has scheduled a subsequent hearing for November 17, he added.
A complaint was lodged against Jaya Prada at the Swar police station throughout the course of the 2019 election campaign.
It is currently pending in the Rampur MP-MLA court.
