A minor girl from a village near Basudevpur in Bhadrak district attempted suicide by consuming poison after being deceived by her boyfriend. After sighting victim in pain, neighbours took her to the Basudevpur community health centre (CHC). According to reports, the girl who was staying alone with her fisherman father and frequently stayed out of the house.
A local man-Musha Mallick of Boigaon village befriended and lured her into a physical relationship on the promise of marriage. Further, he started neglecting her, when Musha got to know, that she was pregnant and the further victim was insisting for marriage.
Following the circumstances, the girl consumed poison kept at her house. The police have started an investigation after receiving a complaint from her family.
