Rourkela: Coronavirus (COVID-19) has continued to spread across the world and countries like India are finding ways to limit its influence, screening of coronavirus can be considered as the most vital part of combating the infectious disease which has so far taken 5000 lives globally.

A research scholar in Rourkela claims to have developed a mobile application which can help people from coronavirus.

A PhD scholar from the prestigious National Institute of Technology in Rourkela named Vineet Kumar claimed that he has designed an app which has the capability of screening Coronavirus infection.

As per media reports, when asked about his app, Vineet replied, “The preliminary step for the screening of the disease is thermal detection. So our application is based on an IR sensor thermal camera which transcripts the whole body temperature of any suspected person to create a profile. It is then matched with the standard temperature profile of an infection-hit body to give us any first-hand information if the person has any abnormality.”

Further explaining his project, Vineet said, “Although it is a not a comprehensive testing method, it can be definitely used as a first-step identification of any suspected cases,” claimed the NIT scholar.

Coronavirus has gone global, it has become a pandemic disease. In India itself, two people have lost their lives due to this infectious disease.
