The Chinese smartphone company OnePlus is all set to release its new and enhanced device OnePlus 7. Last year OnePlus 6T was released which was the first device, spotting a fingerprint sensor under the display to go on sale in Europe and the US. The Chinese smartphone maker had claimed the perfect budget flagship with OnePlus 6T and we are expecting the same from the upcoming OnePlus 7.

OnePlus 7 release date:

  • OnePlus One − April 2014
  • OnePlus 2 − July 2015
  • OnePlus 3 − June 2016
  • OnePlus 5 − June 2017
  • OnePlus 6 − May 2018

According to the above speculation, we expect the OnePlus 7 to be unveiled sometime in the middle of 2019 which means the OnePlus 7 will be launched in May or June 2019. OnePlus might unveil the OnePlus 7 at MWC 2019 in late February.

Expected specifications:

OnePlus is expected to offer a massive performance boost on the Snapdragon 845 and probably OnePlus 7 becomes the first smartphone to utilise the new Snapdragon 855 processor.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is one of the few available devices that spot 10GB of RAM. So it is expected that OnePlus 7 will also feature a 10GB RAM.

OnePlus confirmed earlier that it will be launching a 5G-compatible smartphone in 2019 but it won’t be the base variant of the OnePlus 7. The 5G version will be more expensive than the base variant of the OnePlus 7 and will be launched weeks after the OnePlus 7 launch.

We can also expect the OnePlus 7 to feature the in-display fingerprint sensor of the OnePlus 6T − hopefully a faster, more efficient version.

The OnePlus 7 is rumoured to feature Sony’s IMX586 camera sensor which will make it the first smartphone from the company to come with a 48-megapixel primary rear camera.

Pricing:

Since the OnePlus One, the company’s devices have been slowly but steadily getting pricier. The OnePlus 6T started at $549 (around Rs 40,000) and we expect the OnePlus 7 to cost just as much, if not slightly more.

OnePlus might have a chance to launch its best ever smartphone OnePlus7 this year which could take the benchmarks to a new level.
