Opposition must have an alternative agenda to the government: Nitish Kumar

Speaking at a press conference in Patna on Monday, Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, said that the’ Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar is strong’.

The JD(U) chief said that being the largest Opposition party, the Congress should set the Opposition’s agenda. “Opposition must have an alternative agenda to the government as the reactive narrative won’t work”, he quoted.

“On national level also, we can’t have unity just by saying ‘let’s unite’. We need to have a clear agenda to offer,” the CM added.
He also said that he has no intentions and also does not possess the required capabilities to become the Prime Minister of the country.

Speaking about the newly-launched Goods and Services Tax( GST), he said that they had always supported the new tax regime ‘wholeheartedly’. “Even when Gujarat govt was opposing the GST, we were supporting it”, he said.

Speaking about farmer issues and concerns, he said, “Discussion on farmers has receded during talks over Presidential elections. The farmer’s issues should never be receded”.
