Pakistan: At least 20 killed, over 50 injured in blast

At least 20 people were killed and more than 50 others were injured in a bomb blast that rocked a vegetable market in northwest Pakistan’s Kurram Agency’s Parachinar on Saturday morning. Reportedly, the blast occurred at a crowded Sabzi Mandi, inside Eidgah Bazaar in Parachinar, near the Afghan border.

Following the blast, the security forces have cordoned off the area.

An operation is in progress to find out and apprehend the culprits involved in the incident.

Soon after the incident, the injured were shifted to the agency headquarters hospital.

As per initial reports, the explosives was kept in vegetable crates exploded at a time of auction of the vegetables.

Kurram is among one of the most sensitive tribal areas as it borders three Afghan provinces. Its one of the points was one of the main routes for militant movement across the border. The locale has witnessed scores of attacks.
